Monte Erice hillclimb expands live coverage to Saturday practice
The Monte Erice hillclimb in Sicily will offer expanded broadcast coverage for its 2024 edition, marking the first time that Saturday practice sessions will be streamed live alongside the main Sunday competition. The event, scheduled for 4–6 September between Trapani, Valderice and Erice, will be contested across three Italian national championships: the Historic Speed Climbing Championship (CIVSA), the Mountain Speed Championship (CIVM), and the Historic Classic Speed Climbing Championship (CIVSAC).
Automobile Club Trapani has partnered with Bslmedia to deliver multi-platform coverage unprecedented in the event's history. Live broadcasts will be available on Channel 81 of the terrestrial digital network (Sestarete), YouTube via the official NaxosProracing channel, and across Facebook pages including Naxos Proracing, VideoSportAM and Automobile Club Trapani.
The 2024 edition has attracted over 100 historic vehicles for the first time, with total entry numbers reaching approximately 260 competitors. Giovanni Pellegrino, president of Automobile Club Trapani, described the milestone as recognition of the organisers' collaborative effort and the event's growing appeal. He emphasised that Monte Erice serves as a major promotional platform for the wider Trapani region, and that the expanded coverage aims to allow enthusiasts worldwide to experience every moment of the competition.
