Aquila sets class record at Coppa Sila hillclimb

Imperial Racing Division secured multiple class victories and a new record at the Coppa Sila hillclimb in Calabria, with standout performances from drivers Antonio Aquila and Stefano Medaglia on the demanding mountain course.

Aquila, competing for Scuderia Vesuvio in a Seat Leon, dominated the Racing Start group and claimed victory in the RS 2.0 Turbo class while setting a new class record. His performance proved particularly impressive given an eighth-place finish in the overall standings—a result achieved against significantly more powerful vehicles from higher categories.

Medaglia, representing Cosenza Corse, secured the RS 1.6 Turbo class win with his Mini JCW, delivering a determined drive over the technical and demanding hillclimb layout. The weekend yielded two class victories, the Racing Start group win, a class record, and a top-ten overall result for Imperial Racing Division.
