Cosenza Corse fields four drivers at Italian hillclimb title decider

Cosenza Corse will field four competitors at the Coppa Nissena hillclimb in Sicily, with three drivers still in contention for Italian national titles in their respective classes. The event marks the final round of the 2026 Italian Hillclimb Championship's top-class category and is recognised as Italy's fastest uphill course.

Davide D'Acri will contest the E1-1600 class title in his Citroën Saxo, sitting a handful of points behind the championship leader. A strong performance combined with potential attrition among rival competitors could still swing the title in his favour. Salvatore Mondino aims to secure the RSTB 2000 class crown, facing stiff competition throughout the field as the season reaches its climax.

The squad will also field Pietro Cozza in a Peugeot 106 RS1600, targeting podium points in the final standings, and veteran Salvatore Macrì in an Alfa Romeo 147 E1-2000, who continues to pursue the 2000cc class title despite his age. Cosenza Corse ranks as Italy's second-largest team by average participation in the national hillclimb championship.
