42nd Pedavena Croce d'Aune hillclimb set to attract strong entry
The 42nd edition of the Pedavena Croce d'Aune hillclimb will feature a competitive field across multiple categories, with several established names confirmed for the event.
Among the prototype entries, Franco Caruso from Sicily, Federico Liber and Matteo Amoratelli from Verona, Diego Degasperi from Trentino, and Leonardo Leonardi from Lombardy will contest the absolute classification. Wolf single-seaters will be piloted by Sergio Farris (Sardinia) in the Mistral version, Filippo Ferretti (Umbria, a former national junior champion), and Jacopo De La Maria (Trentino).
In the Sports Car Motori Moto category, Damiano Schena will defend his position at the top, while multiple-champion Omar Magliona from Sardinia is also expected. The GT battle will see Giuseppe D'Angelo (Campania) and Roberto Dall'Antonia (Veneto) competing in Ferrari 488s, alongside other notable Veneto drivers Roberto Ragazzi and Fabrizio Vettorel. Rosario Iaquinta from Calabria continues development work on a Ferrari 458.
The entry list spans numerous other categories: Group E1 will feature Luca Spinetti on a Subaru, Gabriella Pedroni (Trentino) in a Mitsubishi Lancer, and Claudio Zucol in a BMW. A substantial rally car contingent includes multiple Skoda Fabia entries, with Alex D'Agostini, Nicola Sartor, and the Belluno-based driver known as "Brik" among the contenders.
Racing Start categories will see Francesco Laffranchi (Val Camonica) in a Mini competing against Paolo Venturi (Peugeot 308) and Carmelo Fusaro (Seat Ibiza). In Racing Start Plus, Francesco Abate will drive a Mini alongside Adriano Todaro, with Adriano Pilotto (Honda Civic Type R) and Stefano Miotto (Renault Clio) among the naturally aspirated entries. The turbo Racing Start category includes Marco Magdalone from the Super Salita in a Seat Leon Cupra, Stefano Ghezzi and Gabriel Sodi (Tuscany, nephew of multiple champion Simone Faggioli) on Minis, and Mario Tacchini (Bergamo) in a Seat Leon.
Historic categories will feature Sigfried Fedrigotti in a Ford Escort Cosworth, while the fourth grouping includes Ford Sierras driven by Agostino Icolti and Alessandro Romoli, plus several BMWs including one piloted by Giuseppe Zarpellon.
