ELMS 2027: Portimão finale pushed to mid-October

The European Le Mans Series has confirmed a calendar adjustment for the 2027 season. The 4 Hours of Portimão, scheduled as the championship finale, has been rescheduled from Saturday 2 October to Saturday 16 October. The change follows an update to the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve's event calendar and was made to ensure optimal organisational conditions for the series' season-closing round.

The shift affects only the Portuguese event; the remaining five rounds of the 2027 ELMS calendar remain unchanged. Portimão will continue to host the season finale, but with a two-week delay from its original date. The race weekend will run from 14–16 October, with the four-hour contest held on Saturday.

The revised 2027 calendar now reads: Prologue and 4 Hours of Barcelona (Spain, 8–14 March), 4 Hours of Le Castellet (France, 30 April–2 May), 4 Hours of Imola (Italy, 2–4 July), 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium, 20–22 August), Goodyear 4 Hours of Silverstone (Great Britain, 3–5 September), and 4 Hours of Portimão (Portugal, 14–16 October).

The extended gap between Silverstone and Portimão—from early September to mid-October—will provide teams and drivers with additional preparation time before the championship decider. Portimão hosted the 2026 season finale on 9–11 October.
