Kunos Simulazioni has revealed plans to introduce an open-world environment to Assetto Corsa EVO, with the first instalment launching in version 0.10. The expansion will focus on the Eifel region surrounding the legendary Nürburgring circuit, offering players a new context for exploring the simulator's vehicle roster.

The map will span approximately 1,600 square kilometres and recreate authentic roads of the area. The developer's vision combines a large-scale open world with the simulator's full physics model, enabling drivers to experience vehicles in an entirely new setting. Road cars, which often feel out of place on dedicated racing circuits, are expected to shine on the narrow, winding roads characteristic of the Eifel landscape, where realistic driving dynamics and vehicle behaviour become central to the experience.

Kunos has moved away from its initial concept of a career mode with an in-game economy. Instead, progression will centre on driver skill development, training missions, and competitive elements, while maintaining a fully single-player experience.
