Altomonte Slalom returns for seventh edition in late September
The seventh running of the Slalom Città di Altomonte takes place on 26–27 September, counting towards the Italian Slalom Trophy and the Calabria regional championship.
ASA Castrovillari is preparing the seventh edition of the Slalom Città di Altomonte – Coppa Roggiano Gravina, scheduled for 26–27 September. The event, organised in collaboration with Team (S)Parco Chiuso, forms part of the Italian Slalom Trophy regional calendar and the Challenge Calabria, the Calabrian regional championship that draws competitors from across southern Italy.
The Altomonte course spans 2,700 metres with 12 gates and a varied elevation profile featuring successive changes in gradient that enhance both the technical and spectator appeal of the competition. The event has established itself as the most popular slalom in Calabria, regularly attracting over 150 entries.
Beyond the sporting competition, the weekend will include social activities, live music and educational workshops on motorsport organised in partnership with Associazione Luce di Luna and the Lions Club Castello Aragonese, Pollino-Sibaritide and Valle dell'Esaro. These initiatives support children and families in difficulty.
The Altomonte Slalom serves as the penultimate round of the 2027 Italian Slalom Trophy and will award the Memorial Mario Verta and Memorial Vittorio Minasi, the latter reserved for drivers who have also competed in the CIVM and Super Salita during the season. A separate memorial prize honours female competitors.
The event is supported by the Calabria Region, the Province of Cosenza, the municipalities of Altomonte and Roggiano Gravina, and ACI Sport and ACI Cosenza.
