Fuscaldo wins seventh Altomonte Slalom in Calabria

Antonio Fuscaldo of Cosenza Corse secured the overall win at the seventh Slalom Città di Altomonte – Coppa Roggiano Gravina, a fixture on the Calabrian slalom calendar that drew competitors, enthusiasts and spectators to the 2,700-metre circuit. Fuscaldo, piloting an Osella Pa21 J in Class E2SC-1150, delivered his decisive performance in the second run, clocking 124.07 points to claim the top step of the podium.

Organised by ASA Castrovillari in collaboration with Team (S)Parco Chiuso, the event formed part of both the Trofeo Italia Slalom regional zone calendar and the Challenge Calabria, the regional championship that annually attracts drivers from across southern Italy.

Nicola Paola Almirante of New Generation Racing finished second in a Wolf Aprilia GB08 (Class E2SS-1150), posting his best time of 125.30 points in the third run and also securing first place in the E2SS group. Third overall went to Alfonso Casillo of Scuderia Vesuvio in an Elia Avrio E2SC-1150, his best effort of 128.01 points coming in the opening run.

In the Ladies' Cup, Emilia Covello prevailed with a best time of 160.72 points, also winning the Coppa Vincenzo Fuscaldo. Memorial awards went to Gaetano Argentano (Coppa del Memorial Mario Verta) and Paolo Scarpelli (Memorial Vittorio Minasi).

Beyond the competitive element, the event combined racing with social gatherings, music and community engagement, reinforcing the organisers' commitment to making the slalom a focal point for the local territory. The seventh edition has cemented the Altomonte Slalom's standing within Calabrian motorsport while setting the stage for its continuation.
