Time Attack Italia heads to Vallelunga for penultimate round
The Time Attack Italia championship moves into its decisive phase on 3–4 October at Autodromo Vallelunga, with the fifth and penultimate round set to determine several class titles before the season finale at Mugello in November.
Time Attack Italia will reach a critical juncture this weekend as the series returns to Autodromo Vallelunga 'Piero Taruffi' for its fifth and penultimate round of the 2026 season. Organised by Sisco SSDARL under the direction of Andrea Scorrano, the event will run across Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October at the 4.085-kilometre circuit near Rome, with competitors across three main classifications—Racing Series, GT Series and Street Series—preparing for what could be a decisive weekend in the championship battle.
Following the recent restart at Franciacorta, the Vallelunga round promises intense competition across multiple fronts. In the Racing Series Extreme class, Serse Zeli arrives as the championship leader in his Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 10, holding the top spot in both the absolute standings and his class. He will face pressure from Olivia Merlini, also piloting a Lancer EVO 10 for J-Spec Performance. The Pro XL category features a particularly tight battle: Beat Stadler (Volkswagen Golf GTI) and Riccardo Mocini (Honda S2000 Rotrex) are level on 170 points heading into the weekend. In Pro 3000, Rino Gabucci leads with his Fiat Grande Punto Abarth, but holds only a 20-point advantage over Mattia Scirè in a Honda Civic 1600 Turbo.
The GT Series will showcase high-specification machinery, with Angelo Ambrosio returning to the grid in a Lamborghini Huracán GT3. In the GT Supercup, Ignazio Cannavò leads the absolute standings with 400 points in his Lamborghini Huracán ST2, ahead of Roberto Cerioli on 360 points. The GTS class sees Nicola Sorrentino heading the field with 150 points in a Lotus Exige V6 Cup, followed by Giuseppe Mantini (Porsche Cayman 981, 120 points) and Danilo Mantini (Porsche Cayman 987, 110 points).
In the Street Series, Daniel Montebello dominates the absolute classification with 400 points, piloting a Porsche 992 GT3 RS in the Supercar class. The Superstreet category features a three-way contest between Manuel Canestrelli (Audi TTRS), Andrea Vezzola (Audi TTRS MK3) and Arancia (BMW M2). The Street class remains competitive, with Luca Betti (Golf 7 GTI) leading on 150 points, closely pursued by Simone Farina (Audi TT, 140 points) and Mirko Pierotti (Nissan R33 GTT, 130 points). Cesare Quacquarelli leads Street Limited in a Renault Megane RS, while Omar Paravati holds a perfect score in Pocket Rocket with his Honda Civic K20. Davide Barbariol commands the Clubman class on 200 points in a Mazda MX-5 ND.
The weekend schedule begins on Saturday 3 October with GTC free practice from 18:05. The main action unfolds on Sunday 4 October, with Time Attack free practice commencing at 09:00, followed by the first timed run at 11:30. A second run takes place at 14:45, with the final decisive assault on the clock scheduled from 17:15 to 18:45. The GTC and Speed Cup championships will run concurrently throughout the day. Admission to the circuit is free for spectators, and results and coverage will be shared via the Time Attack Italia social media channels.
