The Cividale-Castelmonte hillclimb in Italy is turning its attention to 2027, when the event will celebrate its golden jubilee. Organisers at Red White, the team running the fixture, have begun preparations for a memorable edition following a well-received recent running of the chronoscalata.

Christian Merli and Harald Mossler took victory in the modern and historic car category at the latest event. Merli, competing in a Nova Proto NP01, set a new track record for the revised layout with a time of 2'59"41 in the second run, claiming his fourth career win at Castelmonte. The circuit was reconfigured in 2022 with the addition of a third chicane.

Alexandro Zamparutti, a key figure at the organising team, outlined ambitions for the 50th edition. "We are already working to put together a memorable event," he said. "We dream big, aware that there is much to do, but we are very motivated with many ideas." Among the goals is to restore Austrian national championship status to the event, which would make it the third national validation alongside Italy and Slovenia.

Zamparutti praised the quality of the recent running. "We are satisfied not only with the spectators along the course, but also with the quality of the entry list and the racing," he noted. "It was a very competitive edition that we will remember for a long time."

The 50th edition will also pay tribute to Mauro Zamparutti, the founder of the race, whose legacy is carried forward by his children Alessandro and Sarah through their organisation of the hillclimb.
