Assetto Corsa EVO open world to feature Nürburgring and drivable terrain
Kunos Simulazioni has unveiled plans for a free-roam mode in Assetto Corsa EVO centred on the Nürburgring and surrounding Eifel region, with the ability to exit vehicles and explore on foot.
Kunos Simulazioni has detailed the free-roam mode coming to Assetto Corsa EVO. The initial open-world implementation will focus on the legendary Nürburgring and recreate at 1:1 scale a portion of Germany's Eifel region, encompassing the Nordschleife circuit, surrounding villages, and the roads connecting them.
At launch, the mode will support single-player and multiplayer sessions with AI traffic, time trials, dynamic weather changes, and a full day–night cycle. Among its most distinctive features is the ability to exit vehicles and explore the environment on foot. Players will also be able to drive off-road and investigate terrain beyond the road network.
The free-roam mode will receive its first public demonstration at SimRacing Expo in Frankfurt on 16–18 October. A full release is planned for shortly after the expo, though an exact date has not yet been announced.
