IMSA Esports Global Championship 2026: Round 2 heads to Sebring with 52-car grid
The 2026 IMSA Esports Global Championship visits Sebring International Raceway on Sunday, October 11th, for a two-hour and 40-minute endurance contest across GTP and GTD categories.
The 2026 IMSA Esports Global Championship moves to Florida for its second round of the season on Sunday, October 11th, taking on the legendary bumps of Sebring International Raceway. A full field of 52 virtual entries will tackle the two-hour and 40-minute multi-class event, featuring 20 cars in the Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) category and 32 entries contesting the Grand Touring Daytona (GTD) division. Points will be awarded for both qualifying and race results, with championship winners in each class set to collect a $5,000 prize at the end of the campaign.
The championship arrives in Sebring following an unpredictable, wet-weather season opener at Road Atlanta two weeks prior. In GTP, the Bleu Mercure Esport squad claimed victory with Alxander Spetz and Atte Kauppinen behind the wheel of their No. 31 Acura after timing a switch to slick tires effectively. Grid-and-Go.com eSports brought their new Aston Martin home in second place, while the No. 33 Verstappen Sim Racing BMW claimed third after a dry-tire strategy gamble required an extra pit stop. In GTD, dry tires proved crucial for Risi Competizione by GnG, allowing Daniel Pásztor and Nicolas Mateo to steer the No. 107 Ferrari to victory ahead of the No. 161 VØRAX Mercedes-AMG and the pole-sitting EMM Esports Chevrolet.
Sebring also brings high expectations for Coanda Esports, who dominated this event in the 2025 campaign with a clean sweep across both GTP and GTD classes. The 3.7-mile, 17-turn circuit will test car setups and driver endurance before the series heads north to Watkins Glen International on October 25th for the third round. Race coverage begins at 2:00 p.m. ET (18:45 GMT) following a 15-minute pre-race show.
