iRacing Tests Return of Road Course Start Zones and Multiclass Pace Cars
iRacing is conducting internal testing for the reintroduction of road course start zones alongside multiclass pace cars, featuring updated instructions and revised penalty mechanics.
Developers at iRacing have resumed internal testing for road course start zones and multiclass pace cars, aiming to bring both features back to the online racing platform.
The updated rollout includes revamped starting instructions designed to provide clearer cues to the field before the green flag waves. Alongside the visual and spotter updates, the team is also refining the underlying penalty logic to ensure fairer enforcement and reduce unwanted infractions during race starts.
While start zones and dedicated pace cars for separate classes were previously tested, adjustments to procedural logic and automated officiating are expected to streamline rolling starts across multiclass road racing grids once released.
