IMSA Esports Global Championship Sebring 240: Coanda and Bleu Mercure Take Class Honors
Porsche Coanda Esports Racing Team and Bleu Mercure Esport converted pole positions into GTP and GTD victories at Sebring International Raceway in round two of the IMSA Esports Global Championship.
The second round of the 2026 IMSA Esports Global Championship visited Sebring International Raceway for the Sebring 240. The 2-hour, 40-minute endurance contest saw both polesitters convert their starting positions into victories, though their paths to the top step differed sharply across the two classes.
In the GTP category, Alejandro Sánchez and Charlie Collins steered the No. 91 Porsche Coanda Esports Racing Team entry to victory. Collins built an early gap during the opening stint before handing over to Sánchez. The final stint proved dramatic as Sánchez nursed a malfunctioning throttle pedal that repeatedly dropped to around 70 percent power on straights. Despite the mechanical handicap, Sánchez withstood a closing charge from the No. 8 Grid-and-Go.com eSports Aston Martin driven by Jake Denehan and Jere Lehtinen, crossing the line just 1.128 seconds ahead. Round 1 victors Alxander Spetz and Atte Kauppinen rounded out the GTP podium in the No. 31 Bleu Mercure Esport Acura, maintaining their championship lead by 13 points over the No. 8 squad.
GTD honors went to the No. 132 Bleu Mercure Esport Porsche 911 GT3 R shared by Corentin Lassine and Thibault Cazaubon. Lassine pulled away from the pack early on, leaving Cazaubon with a comfortable margin to protect through the second half of the race. The duo claimed a four-second victory over the No. 179 Alpha One by SX Porsche of Luca Wunsch and Lewis Woods, while Kevin Ellis Jr and Yohann Harth finished third for Nova Legio Racing in their Lamborghini. With the win, the No. 132 crew claimed the GTD points lead, placing Bleu Mercure entries atop both divisions.
The championship resumes in two weeks on 25 October at Watkins Glen International for round three of the five-race season.
