The Italian Super-CIVM hillclimb championship travels to Sardinia this coming weekend for the 64th edition of Alghero – Scala Piccada. Serving as the penultimate round of the season, the event will see competitors tackle the scenic hillclimb route measuring just over 5 kilometers.

Twenty-time Italian hillclimb champion Simone Faggioli enters the event as the prime favorite for the overall victory behind the wheel of his Nova NP 01-2 C Judd. He will face stiff competition from a deep prototype field, including Mirko Torsellini, who makes his debut with a brand-new Nova NP 01-2 C Honda Turbo, and Sicilian veteran Franco Caruso in a Nova NP 01-2 C Zytek. Other major contenders in the premier division include Achille Lombardi aboard an Osella PA30 Judd, local driver Giuseppe Vacca in a Nova NP 01-2 Mugen, Alberto Scarafone debuting his own Nova NP 01-2 C Honda Turbo, and Sardinian driver Marco Satta steering a Norma M20FC Judd prepared by the Faggioli outfit.

In the 2.0-liter E2-SC category, local favorite Sergio Farris heads the entry list in a Wolf GB08F1 Mistral PSA Turbo, going up against Matteo Moratelli in an Osella PA21 4C LRM Turbo, Filippo Ferretti also debuting a Wolf GB08F1 Mistral PSA Turbo, and Switzerland's Fabien Bouduban making his first appearance in a Nova NP 01-2 Synergy. Meanwhile, the 1.6-liter E2-SC class features Damiano Schena (Nova NP 03 C Aprilia), Jacopo Dellamaria (Wolf GB08 Thunder Aprilia), Michele Gregori (Nova NP 03 C Aprilia), and local entrant Fabio Angioj (Nova NP 03 Aprilia).

The closed-wheel classes are highlighted by a competitive GT contingent. Giuseppe D'Angelo will contest overall touring honors in a Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo, challenged by Alessandro Gabrielli and Roberto Ragazzi in identical machinery, alongside Fabio Andrea Faustinelli, who steps into a Porsche 911 GT3 R. Additional touring contenders include Rosario Iaquinta and Gabriele Lanzillotti in their respective Ferrari 458 Challenge Evo entries. Rounding out the entry highlights, Fulvio Giuliani makes his hillclimb return in an E2-SH class Lancia Delta Integrale Evo, while local veteran Ennio Donato competes in class E1 with his BMW E30 M3.
