Michele Gregori targets class victory at 64th Alghero-Scala Piccada
Michele Gregori will conclude his 2026 racing season this weekend in Sardinia at the 64th running of the Alghero-Scala Piccada hillclimb.
Italian hillclimb racer Michele Gregori is set to conclude his 2026 sporting campaign in Sardinia this weekend at the 64th edition of the Alghero-Scala Piccada, a round of the Super CIVM championship held across a challenging 6,285-meter course tackled twice.
Driving his central-seat Nova Proto NP03 in the up to 1,150cc class of the E2SC-SS group, the Pieve Santo Stefano native aims to secure the class honors that narrowly slipped away during the previous edition. Gregori had matched Damiano Schena's time to the hundredth of a second to lead Race 1 ahead of Filippo Ferretti, but ran wide in a corner during the second ascent, relinquishing first place.
Schena returns as a primary rival in the same machinery, while Ferretti moves up to the 2,000cc division behind the wheel of a Wolf GB08 Mistral. Having received his new car in June, Gregori has consistently improved his pace in the Super Salita events and enters the weekend with strong prospects.
The event timetable in Alghero begins on Friday, 16 October, with administrative checks and scrutineering running from 09:30 to 17:00. Two official practice heats are scheduled for Saturday, 17 October, starting at 09:00, before competitive action gets underway on Sunday with Race 1 launching at 09:00, followed directly by Race 2.
