Mirko Torsellini to Debut Nova Proto NP01 at 64th Alghero - Scala Piccada
Mirko Torsellini will contest the 64th Alghero – Scala Piccada hillclimb behind the wheel of a Nova Proto NP01 ahead of his planned 2027 Campionato Italiano Supersalita campaign.
Siena-based driver Mirko Torsellini is set to contest this weekend's 64th running of the Alghero – Scala Piccada hillclimb in Sardinia. The event marks his competition debut aboard the Nova Proto NP01, a prototype chassis previously campaigned by French driver Kevin Petit. The outing serves as preparation for an upcoming campaign in the 2027 Campionato Italiano Supersalita.
Torsellini, competing under the Best Lap banner, kicked off the program last week with preliminary testing sessions at the Modena circuit to adapt to the prototype's characteristics. Torsellini noted that while the car delivers substantial power, it remains manageable, emphasizing that the primary objective in Sardinia is to accumulate mileage and build familiarity with the package.
The Sardinian event carries historical significance for Torsellini, who made his hillclimb debut at Scala Piccada before taking his first overall victory at the course last season. The 64th edition of the hillclimb is organized by the Automobile Club Sassari alongside local authorities, serving as the second round of the Super CIVM national finals.
Track action will conclude on Sunday, 18 October, with race 1 and race 2 broadcast live by ACI Sport TV. Torsellini's entry is supported by Faggioli Racing Team alongside Best Lap and local partners.
