31st Slalom Città di Misilmeri Attracts 80 Entrants Across Regional and National Cups
Eighty drivers are set to compete at the 31st Autoslalom Città di Misilmeri in Sicily, marking one of the largest entry lists of the Italian slalom season.
A bumper entry list of 80 competitors has been confirmed for the 31st Autoslalom Città di Misilmeri – Memorial Luca Cerniglia, scheduled for 17–18 October. Organised by Misilmeri Racing, the event serves as a scoring round for the ACI Sport South Italy Slalom Trophy, the Sicilian Slalom Championship, and the regional Challenge degli Emiri series.
The 2.990-kilometre course, laid out along Provincial Road 38 between Misilmeri and Belmonte Mezzagno via Piano Stoppa, features 14 chicane barriers to test precision and car control across three competitive heats. Preliminary scrutineering opens on Saturday, 17 October, followed by mandatory practice on Sunday morning at 09:00 and the first official race heat starting at 10:00.
Outright victory is expected to be fiercely contested among a strong contingent of sport prototypes and single-seaters. Headline contenders include Silvio Fiore behind the wheel of an Aprilia-powered Radical SR4 and Salvatore Catanzaro in a Gloria B5 Evo Suzuki, both carrying multiple overall wins this season. They will be challenged by contenders including Riccardo Cerniglia (Bogani SN84 Suzuki), Francesco Bigione (Gloria B5 Evo Suzuki), Nino Di Matteo (Gloria C8F Evo Suzuki), Gianni Carfì (Radical SR4 Suzuki), and 78-year-old veteran Nicolò Incammisa, who claimed overall victory at the venue in 2023.
The entry list also includes 12 historic competition cars, notably featuring Matteo Cuccia's Autobianchi A112 Abarth, Salvatore Ortolano's Fiat X1/9, and Lucio Nocera's Fiat 131 Abarth. In the touring and special classes, three-time Italian women's slalom champion Angelica Giamboi will compete in a Fiat X1/9 Coupé Dallara, going up against Rossella Pappalardo in a Fiat 500.
