Gianluca Grossi Secures Group 3 Podium at 9th Coppa Faro Season Finale
Milanese driver Gianluca Grossi concluded his historic hillclimb campaign with an 11th overall finish and second in Group 3 at the 9th Coppa Faro in Pesaro.
Milanese racer Gianluca Grossi wrapped up his historic hillclimb season on a high note at the 9th Coppa Faro in Pesaro, delivering a standout performance behind the wheel of his proven Triumph Dolomite Sprint.
Tackling the challenging 3,870-meter seaside course over bumpy and slick asphalt, the head of Autoclassiche Milano steadily raised his pace. A remarkable breakthrough came during race two, where Grossi clocked a time of 2:33.08, shaving nearly five seconds off his run from the opening heat.
That effort elevated Grossi to 11th overall in the historic classification, narrowly missing the top ten, while securing second overall in Group 3 (3° raggruppamento) behind Giuliano Peroni in an Osella PA 8/9. The strong showing provided a satisfying finish after a season split between modern machinery and the Campionato Italiano Velocità Salita Autostoriche (CIVSA).
Grossi expressed his surprise at the second-heat pace, noting that the slippery track surface demanded aggressive yet controlled driving to extract maximum traction from the Dolomite. Competing under the Novara Corse banner, Grossi credited car preparer Roberto Percivale and collaborator Davide Ravella for providing a competitive machine throughout the campaign.
