16 October 2026

The 64th edition of the Alghero Scala Piccada has officially kicked off with technical verifications and the drivers' briefing along the S.S. 292 route in Sardinia. Following formalities near the Hotel Green and Via Emilio Lussu, the race director briefed more than 100 competitors ahead of the weekend. Engines fire up on Saturday, 17 October, at 09:00 for two practice runs, followed by two competitive race heats on Sunday across the 5,100-metre course.

All 101 verified entrants will tackle the Sardinian ascent, including last year's event winner Mirko Torsellini, who returns behind the wheel of a Nova Proto NP01 equipped with a new turbo engine. Multi-time Italian champion Simone Faggioli also lines up in a Nova Proto NP-01, highlighting development tests ahead of 2027 alongside his pursuit of top honours. Local competitor Emanuele Sergio Farris enters the premier E2 SC-SS category with an updated Wolf GB-08 Mistral, featuring fresh aerodynamic tweaks and an upgraded powerplant.

Organised by AC Sassari under the leadership of Giulio Pes di San Vittorio, the hillclimb forms the second round of the Super CIVM championship. The event also features a three-woman contingent across the production classes, with Ilaria Piras campaigning a Renault Clio Sport in Racing Start Plus, while Maria Chiara Cuccioloni in a Mini Cooper JCW and Adriana Tinella in a Citroën Saxo VTS—also eligible for Under 25 honours—go head-to-head in the Racing Start division.
