SCS Software has released the open beta for update 1.62 in American Truck Simulator, introducing Route 66 anniversary locations, new viewpoints across ten states, and visual improvements.
SCS Software has rolled out the open beta for update 1.62 for American Truck Simulator, expanding upon features introduced in the recent Road Trip expansion. Players can test the upcoming build on Steam by switching to the public beta branch in the game's properties.
The update adds new tourist viewpoints across ten states, giving virtual truckers opportunities to collect additional postcards. Alongside this, the developers marked the 100th anniversary of Route 66 by introducing dedicated themed points of interest across eight states. Players who visit every anniversary location earn a commemorative postcard and an in-cabin air freshener accessory.
On the technical side, the patch introduces enhanced materials and revised lighting for the 2025 Volvo VNL truck. The Goodyear Tires Pack DLC has also been updated with refreshed liveries reflecting the tire manufacturer's current corporate identity.
