Car Mechanic Simulator Delayed to 2027 to Add Multiplayer
Red Dot Games has postponed the next installment of Car Mechanic Simulator to early 2027 while introducing two-player co-op functionality.
Developer Red Dot Games has announced a revised release schedule for the next installment in its flagship automotive franchise. Previously known as Car Mechanic Simulator 2026, the project has been retitled Car Mechanic Simulator 2027 and is now slated to launch in the first quarter of 2027.
The primary reason for the delay is the integration of online multiplayer. According to the studio, developing netcode for the first time presented unexpected technical hurdles, leading to an initial underestimation of the workload and requiring significant overhauls to existing gameplay systems.
Ahead of the full release, an updated demo featuring two-player cooperative play will become available on 22 October. The trial build includes the Bolt Nevada and Lacroix Modique R vehicles alongside an expanded in-game tutorial. With internal testing of the co-op architecture complete, developers are expanding access to gather broader player feedback.
The final launch of Car Mechanic Simulator 2027 is scheduled to take place simultaneously on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles in early 2027.
