SMP Esports has officially announced the development of SMP Drive Engine, an in-house proprietary racing engine designed for virtual motorsport. The announcement took place in Krasnoyarsk during a technology session focused on sports innovations at the 14th International Sports Forum "Russia — Country of Sports," where SMP Esports CEO Georgy Gnutov presented the project.

According to Gnutov, the platform is intended to meet the growing demand for independent software in digital motorsport. The software architecture incorporates a physics and mathematics core, a visual rendering pipeline, and dedicated B2B tools tailored for race engineers and competitive teams. In addition, the engine includes artificial intelligence algorithms alongside modular systems for esports competitions and educational initiatives.

The simulation ecosystem built around SMP Drive Engine is primarily targeted at developing young drivers and establishing a structured bridge from sim racing to physical motorsport. SMP Esports highlighted Alexander Smolyar, who claimed a Russian championship title this season, as an example of this development model, pointing out his extensive simulator training in circuit acclimatisation and telemetry analysis prior to his real-world competition career.
