Stéphane Fourmond Sweeps 10 Performance Index Wins in French Historic Hillclimb
Stéphane Fourmond secured ten Performance Index victories across ten starts in the 2026 Championnat de France de la Montagne VHC aboard a self-restored 1959 D.B HBR5.
Stéphane Fourmond concluded an extraordinary debut campaign in the 2026 French Historic Hillclimb Championship (Championnat de France de la Montagne VHC). Competing across ten events throughout the season, the Sarthe-born driver claimed first place in the Performance Index (Indice de Performance) at every single round he entered.
Behind the wheel of a 1959 D.B HBR5 that he restored personally, Fourmond secured the national Performance Index title, pending official validation of the final classifications by the FFSA. The classic Deutsch-Bonnet machinery proved impeccably reliable and rapid on the climbs across the country.
The unblemished record of ten victories in ten starts far exceeded his original plans for the season. Fourmond had initially committed to running only a five-event programme before expanding the campaign as results accumulated.
