28 October 2026

The 2026 TCR Italy championship reaches its deciding weekend at Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello, where 15 points separate standings leader Michele Imberti from his primary title rival Matteo Poloni with two races remaining.

Imberti enters the season finale atop the standings with 335 points at the wheel of his Kombat Motorsport Hyundai Elantra N, having secured three victories over the course of the season. Poloni follows on 320 points driving the Gear Works Audi RS 3 LMS, maintaining his title challenge through regular top finishes despite chasing his first race win of the year. Sandro Pelatti and Denis Babuin also retain mathematical chances, but the title fight primarily centers on the top two.

The Tuscan circuit presents significant challenges in tire management and fast direction changes under cooler autumn conditions. Imberti highlighted the necessity of avoiding tire degradation issues experienced during the summer, aiming to protect his points buffer without unnecessary risks. Poloni, aiming to capitalize on his single-lap pace and set-up adaptability in lower ambient temperatures, enters the round looking to close the gap early in Saturday's opening encounter.

The Mugello schedule begins on Friday, 30 October, with practice and qualifying. Race 1 is scheduled for Saturday, 31 October at 11:00, followed by Race 2 on Sunday, 1 November at 10:40.
