Sixth Fiorio Cup Pits Italian Talents Against European Rally Stars
The sixth edition of the Fiorio Cup gets underway at Masseria Camarda, featuring an Italy versus Europe showdown in identical Rally2 machinery.
The sixth edition of the Fiorio Cup – Trofeo Alex Fiorio is set to kick off in Ceglie Messapica, bringing together young Italian prospects and international rally competitors for an all-gravel contest. Based around the grounds of Masseria Camarda, the estate of Cesare Fiorio, the event challenges drivers across a dedicated four-kilometer dirt stage.
Following reconnaissance runs on Saturday, participants will gather in Piazza Plebiscito alongside representatives from local and regional authorities, as well as the Automobile Club di Lecce. Conceived by Rally University, the invitational rally shootout adopts an Italy versus the Rest of Europe format for this edition, with previous overall winners including multi-time Italian champion Andrea Crugnola, WRC champion Kalle Rovanperä, and European championship regular Andrea Mabellini.
All competitors will face off in identical Pirelli-shod Skoda Fabia Rally2 cars prepared by Alessandro Perico's PA Racing squad. Representing the Italian contingent are newly crowned national champion Roberto Daprà, Giovanni Trentin, Matteo Bernini, and Tamara Molinaro. They face European opposition featuring veteran Henning Solberg, Pontus Tidemand, Eliott Delecour, and Hedda Hosas.
