61st Trofeo Luigi Fagioli set for championship finale in Gubbio

21 August 2026

The 61st Trofeo Luigi Fagioli hillclimb will serve as the opening round of the 2026 Italian Hillclimb Championship, with 258 drivers confirmed for the event in Gubbio, Umbria. The weekend will determine multiple national titles and will be broadcast live on ACI Sport TV. The event has been presented with a focus on spectator experience and community engagement, featuring special guests, paddock facilities, and supporting activities alongside the competitive racing.

The hillclimb takes place over the traditional 4.15-kilometre course from Gubbio to Madonna della Cima, which passes through the Gola del Bottaccione geological site. The route has been resurfaced in several sections and upgraded with improved safety measures and spectator facilities. Official practice runs are scheduled for Saturday 22 August from 09:30, with two timed runs. The competitive races take place on Sunday 23 August, also starting at 09:30, with results determining the Trofeo Fagioli winner and Italian championship points.

A new Arena Paddock facility has been created in the Roman Theatre area, open to the public throughout the event from Friday 21 August. The space will host food vendors, music, simulators, and special events. Saturday evening features a presentation by champion driver Simone Faggioli discussing his Pikes Peak experience, while a parade of road-going supercars will run on both Saturday and Sunday. Sunday also includes a motorcycle gathering and a street car meet. Live coverage will be available on a large screen in the paddock and via ACI Sport TV (Sky channel 228, TivùSat channel 52, and online at acisport.tv and Facebook).

Free shuttle buses will operate from central Gubbio to the course on both race days. The event concludes with an exhibition on the Trofeo's 60-year history at the Galleria della Porta, running from 12 August.
