71st Coppa Nissena set for Italian hillclimb championship finale

28 August 2026

The 71st Coppa Nissena will serve as the final round of the Italian Hillclimb Championship (Campionato Italiano Supersalita) on 11–13 September, organised by the Automobile Club Caltanissetta. The event carries a 1.5 coefficient multiplier and will also count towards the Southern Italian Mountain Speed Championship and the Sicilian Hillclimb Championship for both modern and historic cars. Entries close on Monday, 7 September.

The competition will take place on the historic 5.45 km course along State Road 122 between Ponte Capodarso and Villaggio Santa Barbara on the outskirts of Caltanissetta. Safety upgrades are underway to meet federation standards. The event will be broadcast live on ACI Sport TV (Sky channel 228 and Tivùsat channel 52), with highlights and reports also featured in the weekly magazine programme at 21:00 on Thursdays.

As the seventh and concluding round of the national championship, the Coppa Nissena holds particular significance for the title race. The 2025 edition saw Francesco Conticelli claim victory ahead of multiple champion Simone Faggioli and Franco Caruso, all driving Nova Proto machinery. In the historic category, Salvatore Totò Riolo won in a PRC A6, securing the Italian title in the fourth grouping. An official presentation of the 2026 edition will take place on Thursday, 10 September at Caltanissetta town hall.
