Polyphony Digital will roll out a two-part Spec IV update for Gran Turismo 7 in October and December 2026, adding Sportsland Sugo and the classic Autumn Ring circuit.

Polyphony Digital has announced the Spec IV major update for Gran Turismo 7, continuing post-launch development that has extended well beyond initial projections. The update will be split into two separate releases arriving in October and December 2026, introducing brand-new circuits and further content expansions.

Speaking to Traxion, series producer Kazunori Yamauchi explained that strong sustained sales and a continuously expanding user base prompted the studio to keep delivering new additions more than four years after the game's March 2022 debut.

The first installment of Spec IV is scheduled for release on 15 October, headlined by the inclusion of Sportsland Sugo. The Japanese circuit, regular host to Super GT and Super Formula, will debut in the game with dynamic weather conditions and rain, featuring its trademark elevation changes, blind crests, and aggressive kerbs. Yamauchi noted a personal connection to the venue, having tested there during the development of the Nissan GT-R he drove at the 2012 Nürburgring 24 Hours.

The second part, slated for December, will mark the return of the fictional Autumn Ring circuit after a 13-year absence. Present since the original Gran Turismo in 1997 and last seen in Gran Turismo 6 in 2013, the track keeps its classic layout while being expanded into a larger, international-grade venue. Further details are anticipated during the Gran Turismo World Series World Finals in Tokyo on 5–6 December.
