Track Day Trophy Debuts at Tor Kielce as Dawid Babraj Takes Overall Win
Sixteen-year-old Dawid Babraj claimed overall victory at Tor Kielce as the Track Day Trophy amateur series visited the venue near Miedziana Góra for the first time.
Organised for seven years by Motorsport Trophy, Track Day Trophy made its debut appearance at Tor Kielce, bringing a diverse amateur field to a venue the series had never visited before. More than 130 drivers initially registered, with 105 confirmed on the entry list and nearly 100 competitors ultimately tackling the challenging layout under clear weather conditions.
The diverse machinery ranged from standard production hatchbacks to full competition-spec machinery, including a Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Proto-builds, Toyota GR Yaris entries, and various generations of Honda Civic, Renault Clio, and Mazda MX-5.
Overall victory was decided by the combined times across all timed runs. Sixteen-year-old Dawid Babraj set the benchmark in a Ford Fiesta Proto, securing the outright win as well as victory in Class 4 for all-wheel-drive machinery. Experienced competitor Paweł Żeromiński followed in second place overall and in class driving a Subaru Legacy, while Łukasz Oszczypała edged out Robert Kubicki for the final podium spot in a battle between Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X drivers. Sixth overall went to Paweł Dziewierz in a Renault Megane RS, who comfortably headed Class 3 ahead of Dariusz Krawczyk in a SEAT Cupra R and Michał Łukasik in a Ford Fiesta ST.
In the remaining main categories, Wiktor B won Class 2 in a Honda Civic, followed by Marcin Wesołowski in a Renault Clio RS and Anna Wrzesińska in another Civic. Paweł Przyczka claimed Class 1 honors behind the wheel of a Renault Twingo, beating Civic drivers Michał Czarnyszka and Grzegorz Naszkierski. The production-focused Street subclasses also saw tightly contested battles: Kamil Łęski won 4 Street in a Toyota GR Yaris, Dariusz Krawczyk took 3 Street, Michał Woszczek edged Maciej Dyrcz by just 0.15 seconds in 2 Street in a Suzuki Swift Sport, and Kacper Woźniak took top honors in 1 Street in a Honda Civic.
The event also hosted the third rounds of the Honda Trophy and Miata Trophy single-make cups. Karol Grabowski and Wiktor B took victories in the SOHC and DOHC categories of Honda Trophy respectively, while Paweł Antkowiak topped the Miata Trophy classification ahead of Andrzej Domalik and Maciej Turzyński. Motorsport Trophy will conclude its season on 11 November at Toruń with the final rounds of Time Attack Trophy, Honda Trophy, Miata Trophy, and Junior Trophy.
