Assetto Corsa EVO 0.8 adds KTM X-Bow, Golf R, Kyalami circuit
505 Games and KUNOS Simulazioni have released Update 0.8 for Assetto Corsa EVO, marking one of the most substantial patches during the game's Early Access phase. The update introduces three new licensed cars, the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, a comprehensive VR overhaul, and expanded community content support for online racing.
Three new vehicles join the roster: the KTM X-Bow GT2, a lightweight carbon-monocoque machine powered by a turbocharged five-cylinder engine representing the extreme end of the modern GT2 class; the KTM X-Bow GT4, a more accessible GT4-homologated variant built on the same lightweight philosophy; and the Volkswagen Golf 8 R, an all-wheel-drive performance variant that complements the Golf 8 GTI already in the game.
Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit arrives in its modern FIA-graded configuration. Located at high altitude near Johannesburg, the South African venue features flowing fast corners and committed direction changes that reward precision and rhythm. The thin air at altitude affects both engine output and aerodynamic performance, adding a distinctive challenge to the track roster.
Community-created cars, previously limited to single-player, can now be used in multiplayer sessions. Server operators benefit from SHA verification to ensure competitive integrity, while a new entry-list system supports starting order management for league organisers. Creators gain external livery creation tools as the second phase of the user-generated content roadmap.
The VR update represents the most significant overhaul of the Early Access cycle. Foveated rendering—including eye-tracked variants on compatible hardware—concentrates rendering resources where players are looking, improving performance without visible quality loss. Additional VR features include a pixel-density slider (50–150%), world-scale options, supersampling, custom MSAA resolve, a dedicated video settings profile, OpenXR swapchain integration, and a 'prefer FPS over latency' mode. Assetto Corsa EVO is currently available at a 20% discount on Steam.
