Assetto Corsa EVO 0.8 adds KTM X-Bow, Golf R, Kyalami circuit
505 Games and KUNOS Simulazioni have released Update 0.8 for Assetto Corsa EVO, marking one of the most substantial patches during the game's Early Access phase. The update introduces three new licensed cars, the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, a comprehensive VR overhaul, and expanded community content support for online racing. Three new vehicles join the roster: the KTM X-Bow GT2, a lightweight carbon-monocoque machine powered by a turbocharged five-cylinder engine representing the extreme end of the modern GT2 class; the KTM X-Bow GT4, a more accessible GT4-homologated variant built on the same lightweight philosophy; and the Volkswagen Golf 8 R, an all-wheel-drive performance variant that complements the Golf 8 GTI already in the game. Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit arrives in its modern FIA-graded configuration. Located at high altitude near Johannesburg, the South African venue features flowing fast corners and committed direction changes that reward precision and rhythm. The thin air at altitude affects both engine output and aerodynamic performance, adding a distinctive challenge to the track roster. Community-created cars, previously limited to single-player, can now be used in multiplayer sessions. Server operators benefit from SHA verification to ensure competitive integrity, while a new entry-list system supports starting order management for league organisers. Creators gain external livery creation tools as the second phase of the user-generated content roadmap. The VR update represents the most significant overhaul of the Early Access cycle. Foveated rendering—including eye-tracked variants on compatible hardware—concentrates rendering resources where players are looking, improving performance without visible quality loss. Additional VR features include a pixel-density slider (50–150%), world-scale options, supersampling, custom MSAA resolve, a dedicated video settings profile, OpenXR swapchain integration, and a 'prefer FPS over latency' mode. Assetto Corsa EVO is currently available at a 20% discount on Steam.

Assetto Corsa Rally 0.5 adds Greece stages and online multiplayer
505 Games, Supernova Games Studios, and KUNOS Simulazioni have released Update 0.5 for Assetto Corsa Rally, introducing two World Rally Championship stages from Greece alongside the game's first online multiplayer implementation and a substantial physics engine revision. The update adds the Loutraki and Elatia Special Stages, both drawn from real WRC Greece events. Loutraki climbs from the town's outskirts into the Aghii Theodori hills, featuring dusty surfaces, boulder-lined edges, and fast, wide-radius corners suited to aggressive driving. Elatia connects the towns of Elatia and Zeli with a wider, faster layout punctuated by exposed rocks, deep ruts, and sweeping bends that demand precision at high speed. Online multiplayer debuts in this update, allowing up to 16 players to host and join customisable public or private lobbies for single-stage events. Players can control weather, apply car restrictions, and watch live spectating. Developer-managed ACR Lobbies provide permanent community slots, while a rotating calendar features two standard weekly events and one premium event running Friday to Sunday. The physics overhaul encompasses a revised tire model with updated peak slip angle calculations, improved surface recognition with terrain-specific parameters, longitudinal and lateral bulldozing effects on soft ground, enhanced camber response, and experimental stick-slip vibrations for finer surface feedback. A dynamic ideal line now appears on the Greece stages, and all surfaces, cars, and setup presets have been globally rebalanced. Assetto Corsa Rally is currently discounted 20% on Steam through July 9th as part of the Steam Summer Sale.

FIA Esports Global Rally Tour launches on Assetto Corsa Rally
Assetto Corsa Rally has been selected as the official platform for a new international rally esports championship backed by the FIA. The competition will run across multiple stages throughout 2025 and 2026, culminating in a global final during FIA Awards Week in Shanghai in December 2026. The FIA Esports Global Rally Tour will operate on a merit-based format, beginning with a global online qualifier on 12 May that will select 56 drivers from around the world. Competitors will be distributed across six regions: 16 from Europe and 8 each from MENA, North America, South America, Asia-Pacific, and Africa. The qualifier winners will advance to regional shootouts structured as knockout tournaments. Regional events are scheduled for the Asia-Pacific shootout on 23 June during the FIA Conference in Macau, and the European shootout on 16–18 October at SimRacing Expo in Frankfurt, Germany. Dates and venues for the remaining regional competitions will be confirmed later. The top 16 drivers from these regional finals will earn places at the Shanghai finals, where they will compete for the championship title. The grand final will take place live on stage during the FIA Awards Ceremony on 12 December 2026, with the top two drivers facing off in a head-to-head match. Supernova Games Studio Studio Director Mauro Notarberardino stated that the FIA's selection validates Assetto Corsa Rally as a leading rally simulation, despite the game still being in Early Access. The initiative has received support from all FIA regions and reflects the governing body's commitment to expanding esports participation in motorsport globally.
